Flex Hoses

Flex hoses are known for their flexibility and resistance to vibrations and thermal expansion. This type of tubing has replaced rigid pipes in many applications because they are flexible enough to allow movement of one end while the opposite side is fixed. Aero-Flex Corp. is one of the leading names in the manufacture and sale of quality flex hoses in the U.S.

What do flex hoses consist of?

Flex hoses consist of three main parts: a reinforcing agent, inner tubing and outer coat. The inner tubing of our flex hoses is made of either a thermoplastic material or synthetic rubber. The pressure setting of a flex hose determines its reinforcement type and amount.

Types of flex hoses

Flex hoses have two main types of reinforcement: single fiber and multiple fibers. The more the wire braids in a flex hose, the less flexible the tubing becomes. The outer cover of a flex hose provides an additional layer of protection and is resistant to oil and weather. Synthetic rubber and thermoplastic materials are the most common materials used to make the outer cover of flex hoses.

How are flex hoses certified and tested?

At Aero-Flex Corp., we subject all our flex hoses to leak detection tests to ensure that they meet the highest safety standards. We undertake pressure testing and check all tubing for dimensional accuracy.

Raw material certificates

We have all raw material test certificates with details of the physical and chemical properties of our flex hoses. We provide these certificates to our clients on request as well as supply our products for third party inspection on request.

What are the benefits of Flex hoses?

Our flex hoses are associated with many benefits. For starters, these tubings are lightweight and incredibly strong. Also, they can withstand a wide range of temperatures. Moreover, flex hoses have excellent corrosion, fire, abrasion, moisture and penetration resistance.

Flex hoses are resistant to vibrations and can be attached to engines, compressors, and pumps. In addition, these tubings compensate for misalignment and thermal expansion and contraction. Unlike rigid pipes, flex hoses can be installed even in the most constrained spaces.

What are the different types of flex hoses?

There are many types of flex hoses including braided nylon, stainless steel, PVC, and polymer coated flex tubes. As the name suggests, braided nylon flex tubes feature a braided outer core. However, the inner core of this type of tubing is usually made of PVC. Braided nylon flex tubes are suitable for use with cold and hot water supplies.

Stainless steel flex tubes consist of a braided stainless steel core on the outside and a PVC or nylon tube on the inside. They usually have a shiny, textured look. This type of tubing looks great on exposed areas because of its aesthetic features and corrosion resistance.

PVC flex tubes feature a PVC outer core and a solid PVC inner core. This type of flex tube is not affordable, but it is also incredibly strong, flexible and easy to use. Also, they can be used to convey both hot and cold water.

Polymer coated flex tubes have a PVC inner core covered by polymer-coated fibers. They are resistant to corrosion and look great on exposed spaces such as under toilets and sinks.

At Aero-Flex Corp., we uphold high standards of safety and quality assurance. Our experienced engineers carefully monitor every stage of our flex hose production process. Reach out to us today for quality flex hoses.
